YAM Goes on a YAR

How’s that for acronyms? To help you decipher, YAM is the name of the young adult group at our church. It stands for Young Adult Ministries. I know, I know — very creative. =) YAR stands for Young Adult Reatreat. So what I’m trying to say is that our young adult group went on a retreat this past weekend. A family from our church graciously donated their HUGE cabin up in Fairplay for us to use. This thing was ginormous. Over 30 people went on the retreat and there was plenty of sleeping space for everyone, and even some bedrooms that went unused.

Being trapped in a cabin with 30+ YAMMERS for the weekend forced people to get up close and personal real fast. It was a blast though and I think most people could have easily stayed longer then the Friday through Sunday we were there. A great group of people attended and we made a lot of hilarious and fun memories. We spent our time eating, playing games, ”hiking” around the property which was covered in gorgeous fall yellow aspens, watching movies, karaoke-ing, playing poker and just socializing.  Everyone meshed together so well. I know this is just the beginning of plenty of more fun times in the future. It’s so exciting to see how much the group has grown and changed, even during the short time that Mike and I have been a part of it.

Here are some pictures from the weekend:
